New Drug Avastin -story in the Wall Street Journal - My Granddaughters

My son and daughter-in-law were able to participate and be privileged to a new treatment for their daughter's eyes.  See the following link to the Wall Street Journal.   Such a miracle.

An inexpensive dose of Avastin injected into the eyes surpassed a conventional laser treatment in fixing a leading cause of blindness in babies born prematurely, according to a new study.

Binding -Double-fold & continuous

Double-fold Binding - Continuous seam

Sew on a continuous double-fold binding with invisible ending.

Strips:  Cut 2 1/2" strips WOF.

How long?  Measure the entire perimeter of the quilt and add 15".  Divide this total measurement by 42'" to determine the number of strips.

Sew each strip - end-to-end at a 45 degree angle.  (just like the border strips)

Press the strip in half lengthwise.

Breakfast Cheesecake

should call this Laurie's cheesecake -  it's always a hit when I take it.....actually found this in my favorite San Antonio cookbook

Breakfast Cheesecake

1 yellow cake mix (not with pudding)
1 c. large curd cottage cheese
2 (8oz) pkg cream cheese
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. sugar (topping)
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 eggs

Preheat oven - 350 degrees.  Prepare the cake mix according to the box instructions.  Pour into a greased 9x13 cake pan.  In a mixing bowl, mix the cottage cheese, cream cheese, vanilla, 1/2 c. sugar and eggs.  Pour over the cake batter in the pan.  Stir the 1/4c sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and set aside for later.
Bake for 30 min. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar and bake another 15-20 minutes or until  the center no longer jiggles.  Surprise - the cake mix and cheese mixture trade places!
great with coffee!  as dessert!!  same day!  next day!  freezes great!!
